KUSC Women's Premier team to play Kean University

The KUSC Women's Premier team playing in the Ottawa Carleton Soccer League will be facing New Jersey's Kean University Cougars on Friday, August 9 at 6pm at the John Machin International Fields.

The KUSC team is currently sitting in fourth place in the OCSL Women Premier division after 10 games with a 5-2-3 record. Sarah Sanford leads the team in goals with 7, three more than Lisa Bache. Sabrina Carew has posted 4 clean sheets this season. Much of their roster is comprised of current or past CIS players including several from the Queen's University Gaels, the RMC Paladins, and University of Ottawa Gee-Gees.

Kean University is an NCAA Division III team coming off a championship winning season. In 2012, the team won the Eastern College Athletic Conference Metro Championship, the program's first championship in their thirty-year history. Last season, Kean posted a 13-5-4 record in head coach Brian Doherty's fourteenth season. Kean University is led by NSCAA South Atlantic Second-Team All-Star Carly Seidel and is on a short tour through south-eastern Ontario as part of their pre-season.

Cogeco Kingston will be covering the game with Fil Scarpazza and Carlo Cannovan (KUSC TD) providing commentary and analysis, while one of the competitive KUSC U9 girls teams will be acting as ball girls.
