High School - OFSAA 2012 AAA Soccer schedule

The 2012 OFSAA Girls and Boys AAA soccer tournament begins this Thursday in Hamilton at the Mohawk Sports Complex in Hamilton, Ontario.

From the Kingston area, Sydenham Secondary School represents the senior boys, while Regiopolis-Notre Dame represents the senior girls. Both teams find themselves in a 20-team tournament to challenge for the Ontario title.

Regiopolis-Notre Dame is in Pool C against Ancaster H&VS from SOSSA, Corpus Christi CSS from GHAC, SWOSSA's #2 team, Northern CI&VS and Senator O'Connor College from TDCAA.

Sydenham finds themselves in a tough pool with last year's champions, Corpus Christi (GHAC), Mary Ward CSS (TDCAA), Father Bressani HS (YRAA #2), and Crestwood SS (COSSA).

The boys kick off their first game at 9:00am against the defending champion Corpus Christi team on Mohawk #2, before playing Mary Ward at 1:30pm on Mohawk #6. On the second day, they start at 9:30am against Crestwood on Mohawk #8, and finish off at 2:00pm on Heritage Green #2 against Father Bressani. If they finish first or second in their pool, they will be playing at 5:15pm in the Quarter-Final at either Mohawk #2 (1st place) or Mohawk #6 (2nd place). Semi-Finals are to be played on Saturday morning at 9am with the Bronze game at 1:00pm and the final at 1:30pm.

The girls kick off at 10:30am on Mohawk #7, also against Corpus Christi and play again at 3:00pm against Northern on Heritage Green #3. Friday sees Regiopolis-Notre Dame play at 11:00am against Ancaster on Mohawk #3 and finish the day at 2:00pm against Senator O'Connor on Mohawk #5. A first place finish would have Regiopolis-Notre Dame play on Mohawk #7 in the third Quarter-Final at 5:15pm, while a second place pool finish would have them at Heritage Green #3. Like the boys, the Semi-Finals are played Saturday morning at 9:00am, with the Bronze game at 1:00pm, and the final at 1:30pm.

This year, OFSAA's AAA soccer tournament has a twitter account found at @OFSAAsoccerAAA that will be reporting results throughout the tournament for both the boys and girls games.
